Clarity have made Alive & Kicking their charity of the year in 2012. They will be providing pro-bono PR support to Alive & Kicking through the distribution of press releases and assistance with social media. They have also committed to donate £1 to Alive & Kicking for every ‘Like’ of their Facebook page up to the first 1,500. To like Clarity on Facebook click here. UEFA – Alive & Kicking’s most substantial supporters have sponsored 94,000 balls to be distributed to children in Africa and elsewhere and have used our synthetic balls with youth groups in Europe.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has been working with Alive & Kicking since 2008 to provide educational sessions to youth groups in London. These sessions take the form of an eight week course, which is aimed at educating young people about global poverty and inequality using Alive & Kicking’s work as a case study. In addition, a number of balls have been donated in Zambia in honour of some of the London youth groups, with correspondence then set-up between the recipient African school or youth, and the corresponding London group.

Alive & Kicking’s first stitching centre in Kenya was set-up with funds from DFID’s Business Linkages Challenge Fund. Alive & Kicking Kenya was established in 2004 and has now been financially self-sustainable for several years.

Syntec Telecom have been supporting Alive & Kicking by paying the monthly telephone bills for our UK office since 2007. This helps the UK office remain in regular contact with A&K’s staff in Kenya and Zambia.

The Trafigura Foundation is the charitable arm of global commodities trader Trafigura. The ethos of the Foundation is to have a genuine impact on the projects it supports and it is achieving that with Alive & Kicking. Specifically, the foundation has given its support to Alive & Kicking Zambia and has already compelled the operation to draw up an Employment Charter that will help A&K to better convey our fair labour practice.

The Safaricom Foundation sponsors Alive & Kicking’s roadshows in Kenya. The latest being a tour of Rarieda District that will reach out to 40,000 children with HIV/AIDS education.

Without Zambeef Alive & Kicking Zambia may not exist – we stitch balls on their Zamleather site, they provide us with leather and they buy our balls for donation to Zambian children.

Have sold our balls in nineteen of their locations in Kenya and now they have taken Alive & Kicking across the border to Uganda and Rwanda, bringing affordable leather balls to people in Kampala and Kigali.

The Brightside Group plc is looking to raise £100,000 for Alive & Kicking in 2011 to enable us to move closer to our aim of establishing a new stitching centre in Accra. The main thrust of Brightside Group’s partnership with us will commence in November 2011, when Brightside Group plc CEO Arron Banks will be participating in the East African Safari Classic Rally; a gruelling nine day drive across East Africa in a classic car and 40 degree heat.
